BREAKING: EOCO and FBI Seize Shatta Wale’s Lamborghini in Joint Asset Recovery Operation Urus
Ghanaian dancehall icon Shatta Wale is in the news again, but this time not for his music. The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has confirmed the seizure of a 2019 Lamborghini Urus from his Trassaco Valley residence in a high-profile joint operation with the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
The seizure is part of a broader international investigation into $4.7 million fraud case involving one Nana Kwabena Amuah, a convicted Ghanaian fraudster currently serving an 86-month sentence in the U.S. According to an official statement, the Lamborghini in question was purchased using proceeds from Amuah’s fraudulent schemes.
Sources close to the operation say that EOCO’s Surveillance and Asset Recovery Unit (SARU) conducted the raid in June 2025 after receiving a formal Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA) request from the U.S. Department of Justice back in 2023.
While some reports suggested resistance during the operation, Shatta Wale eventually pleaded with officers not to make the seizure public, expressing concern that the vehicle was integral to his brand and could damage his reputation if made public.
Shatta Wale has not been charged with any crime. However, EOCO has named him a “person of interest” in the ongoing investigation. He is expected to be invited for questioning in the coming days, along with former officer of the National Signal Bureau (NSB) Kwabena Adu-Baoahene, who is also implicated in the asset trail.
EOCO has initiated proceedings to transfer the Lamborghini to U.S. authorities in compliance with the international asset recovery agreement. The vehicle will likely be repatriated as part of Amuah’s restitution order
Shatta Wale has since expressed his disappointment with the raid in a series of Facebook posts.
